I was so happy meet Dr. Jonathan Lee who is one of the members of my new medical team. His response was immediate, and professional. As we spoke Dr. Lee ordered my prescription. I am so pleased. I have always kept my doctors until they retire. I highly recommend Dr. Lee, and Sutter Medical Center.

I met with Jonathan S. Lee, M.D., as my new primary care doctor for the first time on Thursday, May 30, 2024. As a Black gay man, I was very clear about my expectations for a primary care physician. My initial questions for Dr. Lee were whether he understands Black men’s and gay health. I had a primary doctor for 17 years who was amazing and truly visionary in primary healthcare. Dr. Lee, my first male doctor, immediately put me at ease during our conversation, creating a sense of calm and nurturing. His extensive experience working with Black patients at various institutions reassured me of his understanding and empathy. He used key phrases and words that I understood from health care systems and community advocacy that I have participated in to supported all LGBTQ people. Upon hearing about Dr. Lee's commitment to making Western and European health systems more inclusive to Black health, I reached out to friends who are M.D.s to verify his authenticity. Their confirmation of his ability and caring nature for patients of color further solidified my trust in him. I am genuinely supportive of learning and growing with Jonathan S. Lee, M.D., as my primary care physician. I am amazed by the diversity of his nursing team and those who work under his mentoring and coaching. I will provide annual updates on my experience with my new primary care physician. Thank you, Jonathan S. Lee, M.D., and your team, for listening to my medical concerns and truly hearing my voice without acknowledging my credentials. The LAB tech "he" was also phenomenal and communicative to what needed to be done during my first experience. Best, TE, Ph.D.

Dr. Lee was very easy to talk to, made space for my questions and made me feel like he had plenty of time for me and that he cared. Very clear communicator as well. He's not my primary care doc and is in another city (it was a video appointment), but I would absolutely see him again if I needed to.

Jonathan was super friendly and helpful working through my issue when I had to switch doctors. He talked through my options and we figured out the right prescription for me, and he gave me confidence in managing how I use the medication (for sea sickness in this case). If highly recommend him as a knowledgeable and great doctor to talk to.

Wonderful, wonderful physician. Listens carefully, is thorough and kind, doesn’t make me feel rushed. He is prepared, having read in my chart about care I’ve received from others since our last visit. As an RN, I know this caliber of physician is a rarity, and I’m so grateful to have found him.
